최근 몇주간 뉴질랜드 국민들과 그들의 가정에 변화를 가져다줄 주택과 관련된 몇가지 긍정적인 발전들이 있었습니다.
최근 발표된 공식 통계에 의하면 뉴질랜드는 현재 역대 가장 큰 건축 호황의 한가운데에 있습니다. 이것은 국민당 정부의 포괄적인 주택 계획이 효율적이다는 것을 입증합니다.

There’s been a number of positive developments around housing over recent weeks that will make a difference to New Zealanders and their families.
Official statistics just released confirm New Zealand is in the middle of the biggest building boom it has ever seen. This demonstrates National’s comprehensive housing plan is delivering results.
Across the country, around 30,000 new homes have been consented in the past year, with nearly 10,000 of those in Auckland alone.
That means Auckland consents are up 14 per cent in the last year and more than double that of five years ago.
And this isn’t just an Auckland story. Many other regions experiencing high demand for housing across New Zealand are also seeing big increases in building consents.
The Waikato, Wellington and Otago are all up 30 per cent and the Bay of Plenty is up 50 per cent in the past year.
There’s still a lot of work to do. Many New Zealanders have told us they’re concerned about housing and we are listening. While there are no quick fixes, we are tackling the issue of housing supply and affordability head on.
Some other results over recent weeks include Building and Housing Minister Nick Smith turning the sod on three housing developments in Auckland, which will deliver around 1650 new homes.
In the last year, the number of New Zealanders using KiwiSaver to help buy their first home has more than doubled to around 31,000 and the amount of money accessed by them has also nearly doubled to around $500 million.
More than 15,000 people have also been helped into their first home with government HomeStart grant of up to $20,000 per couple since we expanded the scheme on 1 April last year.
On 1 August this year, we increased the house price limits for the HomeStart scheme. In Auckland, these increased to $600,000 for an existing house and $650,000 for a new-build. These changes are helping many more people into their first home. In the year to June this year, 34 per cent of all house sales in Auckland were under $650,000.
In terms of supporting our most vulnerable New Zealanders in need, last week we announced a $300 million emergency housing package.
This significant extra funding will provide more emergency housing places. It will also provide more support for tenants, as well as increasing the number of front-line staff.
It will be enough for up to 1400 extra emergency housing places at any one time, in areas of high demand around the country.
Over recent months, it’s become clear that demand for emergency housing has increased, especially in Auckland and we’re committed to meeting that need.
We will continue to work hard on tackling the challenge of housing supply and affordability.
