이상진 대사는 7.30(금) 쿡제도 대사관에서 화상으로 Tom Marsters 쿡제도 여왕대리에게 신임장을 제정하였다. 이 대사는 신임장 제정사를 통해 지난 2013년 수교 이래 양국의 협력 현황을 설명하고, 한반도 비핵화 및 항구적 평화 정착을 위한 쿡제도의 지속적 관심과 지지를 당부하면서, 더 발전된 양국관계를 위해 인적 교류 및 문화분야 등에서 협력을 강화해 나가기로 하였다. 

On Friday 30 July, Ambassador Sang-jin Lee presented his credentials to Sir Tom Marsters, Queen's Representative to the Cook Islands at a virtual ceremony. Ambassador Lee conveyed his wishes for the Cook Islands to take a keen interest and give support to the situation on the Korean Peninsula and bilateral cooperation between Korea and the Cook Islands in his address during the ceremony. Furthermore, Ambassador Lee expressed that he looks forward to enhancing people-to-people and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
